Prawn Roast/ Konju Pirattu is very easy and delicious Kerala Style recipe made with our traditional Kerala spices gives an authentic taste and texture to dish.
Among all seafoods, Prawns is one of my favorite sea food. If compare to any seafood, prawns is the most delectable spongy soft seafood. How to Make Prawn/ Shrimp Roast- Kerala Style Nadan Konju/ Chemmeen Pirattu
Clean the prawns, rub salt,lemon juice and keep it aside. Cut and chop onions, green chillies, garlic, ginger, tomatoes and keep it ready.
Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and allow it to splutter. Now add in the ginger, garlic, green chillies and curry leaves. Saute it for 1 minute.
Then add chopped onions and saute it for 2- 3 minutes, until onion turns light brown in color.
Add kashmiri chilly powder, red chilly powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, fenugreek powder, pepper powder and garam masala powder. Saute it well in a very low flame, until raw smell goes on.
Add in sliced tomatoes and combine well. Then pour 1 cup water and allow it to boil.
Now add prawns, combine well. Cover it with a lid and cook it for 10 minutes.
Adjust salt, Stir in between and wait till gravy thickens. Pour 1 tsp coconut oil on top and off the flame. Serve along with steamed rice.
