It can be prepared either with milk or coconut milk or a combination of both and flavored with cardamom. This recipe I am showing the combination of both milk and coconut milk. This is a sweetened pudding of rice dumplings steamed in a steamer and then cooked along with milk and condensed milk. At last pouring very little thick coconut milk. This is my Amma’s recipe and she used to add little saffron too.

There are different types of kozhukkattai like the mothak, kaara kozhukattai, sweet kozhukattai etc. But paal kozhukattai is the most tastey and my kids favorite recipe. Some recipes use jaggery insteadof sugar and normal milk instead of coconut milk. But using jaggery is the healthier version than white sugar.

    1. Instead of sugar u can add jaggery according to the sweetness level yo need. One for option is that you can add jaggery syrup and use thin and thick coconut milk instead of cow milk.
