We can make Ammini Kozhukattai in different ways. This is an easy version I am posting here today. Here I used steaming method to cook the rice balls, if you want you can add the rice balls in boiling water to cook instead of steaming. I love this dish so much and my Amma used to make this for breakfast in my childhood days. This rice balls can be served as a evening snack or morning breakfast, really healthy for kids too. We can make both sweet and kara ammini kozhukattai.

How to Make Ammini Kozhukattai Recipe- Mani Kozhukattai
Add rice flour in a wide mixing bowl, add salt and boiling water little by little. It is hot enough so use a spoon or ladle to knead until soft.
Rub little oil in hand and pinch very small portion and make it as small ball. Do the same for remaining dough and set aside.
Heat water in a steamer and steam the rice balls for 5-6 minutes until done. Set aside.
Heat a frying pan with oil , add mustard seeds and urad dal allow it to splutter.
Add curry leaves and dry red chillies, fry for a couple of seconds.
Add grated coconut and combine well. off the flame.
Add the steamed rice balls and combine well. Serve hot with dry spicy chutney powder.
