Mutton Korma Recipe- Gosht Korma, is a rich, royal and tasty meat curry. This dish is typically made by using yogurt, spices, ginger and garlic as the main ingredient. It is then cooked in its own juices and a gravy made of onions and spices like cinnamon, cardamom, cloves etc. A non- vegetarian favorite, this dish can be made easily in a pressure cooker. I recently was inspired by this recipe from my cousin sister, Renju. The more attractive fact is that, the curry taste fabulous and it can make in less than 30 mins. A korma can be midly spiced or fiery and may use mutton, chicken, beef. Some kormas combine meat and vegetables such as spinach and turnip. This mutton korma is my family favorite, this is a great recipe for a special occasion or a dinner party. The meat is extremely tender and can be eaten without a mess. While the traditional korma recipes demand quite an effort. This one is very simple, try this healthy, easy to make mutton korma, which is packed with a punch of flavor.
Tips- I used my pressure pan to cook mutton for 6 whistles, if you want you can use normal sauce pan too. Adjust korma consistency according to your need and taste. Add only fresh yogurt or curd.
How to Make Mutton Korma Recipe- Gosht Korma- Easy Mutton Kurma
Soak cashew nuts with 1/4 cup water and set aside for 20 minutes. Grind the soaked cashew nuts to a smooth paste and aside.
Clean mutton pieces and wash well. Drain out and set aside.
Heat a pressure cooker with ghee.
Add cloves, cardamom and cinnamon stick, fry in a low heat.
And then add ginger and garlic paste, saute until raw smell leaves.
Then add onions and saute for 3-4 minutes in medium heat. So that onions will change color to lightly brown.
After that add mutton pieces and mix well.
Pour yogurt and combine well, allow it to boil. If you want you can add 1/2 cup water and mix well.
Add turmeric powder, red chilly powder, pepper powder and garam masala powder. Combine well.
Add cashew nut paste and add salt. Combine well.
Cover the pressure cooker and cook in medium low flame for 5-6 whistles. Allow the pressure cooker to cools down completely.
Serve along with chapathi.
