The dish for someone who loves fish and tandoori food. In India tandoori dishes are extremely popular. This time I used a non- stick pan for making this. I used very little butter and the grilling was even. The fish was succulent from inside and crisp from outside. And the best part of this recipe is cooking is complete in just 15 minutes. It is a delicious fish delight, here the exotic flavors of spices are well marinated with the fish pieces and grilled on a tawa. Here I have used king fish slices, since this delicate fish absorbs whatever flavor it is dressed up with. Any fish slices like salmon, tuna, promfret also goes perfect for this dish. The ideal way of having tandoori fish is as a side with any fried rice varieties or briyanis with some lemon juice squeezed over the fish.
Tips- Instead of using pan, u can cook this in a preheated oven to 180 degree c for about 5 to 10 minutes and use little butter to brush in between. To grill the fish always choose large fish or fillet/ slices that is firm and fresh. This recipe can very much be used by any variety of fishes either grill in the oven or in the barbecue kits.
How to Make Tandoori Fish on a Stove Top- Tandoor King Fish at Tawa Indian Cuisine
Wash the fish slices well, drain out and set aside.
Mix all the ingredients except the fish and butter into thick paste by adding very little water too.
Apply the paste over the fish, coat each slices thickly. Let marinade for over an hour inside the refrigerator.
Heat a pan along with butter and allow to melt. Spread it evenly on tawa.
Add fish pieces and fry for 10- 15 minutes or until both sides are crisp and brown. Serve along with chutney and lemon wedges.
