Pineapple is simply delicious on it’s own, but if you want something quick and easy to make for dessert this summer, then of course you can try this out and serve with some ice cream on the top. I love pineapple, especially grilled pineapple. This grilling does wonderful things to pineapple as it caramelizes the sugars creating a golden brown color and intensity and flavor. The red chilly powder brings out the grilled flavor and adds some spiciness. It is an excellent way to end a heavy, meaty meal. Tips- If you want you can cut the pineapple slices into rounds too, I made it into wedges for easier handling. You can also cut into thick strips. I do both often. If we are eating pineapple as a dessert I cut into thick strips. You can grill pineapple pieces in oven using a wired rack too. While grilling in oven just brush the pineapple pieces with olive oil or canola oil. For a sweeter version you can use brown sugar and cinnamon, after cooking serve along with honey. Adding a bot of sugar to the fruit while frying makes magical.
How to Make Tawa Grilled Pineapple Recipe- Low fat Healthy snack Recipe- Toasted Pineapple
Cut each round slices of pineapple into semi circles.
Sprinkle red chilly powder, chaat masala powder, salt, sugar over pineapple slices onto both sides. Pour olive oil and combine well and set aside for 5 minutes.
Heat up a cast iron grill pan on the stove ( or any old non- stick pan) place pineapple slices on the pan and grill for 5 minutes on each sides on medium- low flame. Remove and add lemon juice, serve immediately. You can even grill this on oven using a wired rack for 10- 15 minutes.
