Then it is well coated with sauces and serve hot. Now lets see how to prepare this super delicious lollipop recipe with detailed step by step cooking pictures follows.
Now a days chicken lollypops you can get it done at the store, however you can easily do it at home. It is one of the famous street food across India. I have made using a fusion of Indian and Chinese flavors. So you need both garam masala powder and sauces on hand. It can be prepared in different ways, sometimes I use chicken drumsticks too and coated with spices, bread crumbs to give it a certain crunchiness. I will post that recipe also in coming weeks.
Tips- The below mentioned quantity of chicken lollipops with the chilly powder give moderately spicy. The combination of cornstarch balances out the spice. You can add more or reduce the quantity of chilies and black pepper according to your spice level. I have used here kashmiri chilies too that is low on spice but lend a beautiful red color, this eliminates the need to use any food colouring. One more tip which I am going to share is, wrap your bone part of the lollipop with aluminum foil so the overall presentation looks great, plus it’s cleaner to just hold it on the hand. Sauces are already salty, so add salt in the sauce mixture after a salt check only.
How to Make Chicken Lollipop Recipe- Indo- Chinese Appetizer Chicken Lollypop Recipe
I have used store bought chicken lollipops, so wash well and drain out the excess water and set aside.
For making the marination, take a wide mixing bowl. Add in corn flour, chilly powder, kashmiri chilly powder, salt, ginger paste, garlic paste and black pepper powder. Mix well using very little water and make a paste.
Add chicken lollipop pieces along with the spice mixture and combine well. Keep it rest for 15 minutes.
Heat a pan with required oil, when the oil is enough hot, fry them on medium flame until cooked. Do not fry on a very high flame as it may brown the chicken outside without cooking inside. Even you can deep fry the chicken pieces, I have done shallow fry, so one side is done flip it and cook the other side.
Drain them on a paper towel and set aside.
Heat a wide frying pan and add 2 tsp oil in the pan. ( you can use the oil used for frying chicken) Add in garlic, ginger, onion and fry until onions are transparent
Add in chilly sauce and vinegar, combine well.
Add sugar, tomato sauce and soya sauce. Saute everything together without burning.
Add half cup water and saute well. Allow it to boil and cook the sauce until thickens.
Add the chicken pieces and toss well. Serve hot along with tomato sauce.
